The Process – Porcelain Veneers
The process of getting veneers involves multiple steps. We begin with a complete smile analysis in which Dr. Ardekani makes a treatment plan according to your desired goals and concerns, and he may take X-rays or impressions of your teeth during this consultation. Next, we shave off a small portion of the tooth enamel to make room for the carefully crafted veneer to perfectly fit your tooth. You may choose to have local anesthesia to minimize any possible discomfort. You will receive a temporary veneer while a mold of your tooth is made. At the following appointment, the temporary is removed and the final veneer is bonded to your tooth.
Does the process of getting veneers hurt?
No! We make sure you are comfortable during the procedure and numb the area around the teeth that will be having veneers cemented on. You will feel no pain, and once the procedure is completed and the numbness has worn off, you can manage any discomfort with over the counter medications. Generally, there can be slight soreness to the gums and jaw in larger cases that involve 8 or more veneers.
Teeth Veneers FAQs
How long do veneers last?
If properly cared for, veneers can last for 20 years. We highly recommend keeping up your oral hygiene routine of brushing and flossing as well as your dental cleanings every 6 months.
What else can I do to help my veneers last as long as possible?
Discontinue any bad habits your may have that might put unnecessary stress on the veneers. Avoid nail biting, straw chewing, opening bags or containers with teeth, and even removing gloves with your veneers.
How do I care for my veneers?
Treat your veneers the same way you treat your natural teeth: brushing twice and flossing once daily. Wearing a bite guard at night would provide extra protection. Avoid eating hard foods, like nuts, and cracking shells with front veneers.
Are there other dental procedures that need to be done when I get veneers?
It is common for patients who get veneers to choose to have gum contouring done as well. This cosmetic procedure can help to create symmetry and lengthen short teeth. In order for the veneers to perfectly match the other teeth, some patients choose to undergo teeth whitening as well.
How much do veneers cost?
The cost of veneers varies, depending on how many veneers you are getting, the location of the veneers, and other details pertaining to your particular treatment plan. The best way to get an accurate estimate of the cost of veneers would be to schedule a consultation with us. We look forward to doing all we can get give you the smile you deserve.
COMPONEER
COMPONEER are a completely new class of veneers. They are a less expensive alternative to porcelain veneers. COMPONEER are polymerized, pre-fabricated nano-hybrid-composite enamel-shells, which combine the advantages of direct composite restoration with those of lab-made Veneers. The extremely thin veneer coatings from 0.3 mm allow a high level of conservation of hard tooth substance during preparation. The shiny and naturally designed surface adds a look of vitality to the restoration.
